- What does "yoshi" mean?
When translating any word from its original language into the English languauge, there are always instances where one word can have multiple meanings. "Yoshi" is one case in particular. "Yoshi" means "the best," "better," "good," "goodness," and "lucky."
- What is sushi?
Sushi is a Japanese dish consisting of small balls or rolls of vinegar-flavored cooked rice served with a garnish of raw or cooked fish, vegetables, or egg. In Japanese, "su" means vinegar and "shi," short for "meshi," means rice. Therefore, "sushi" is vinegar-flavored rice.
- Briefly describe seating in your tatami section.
- Our tatami section is a Japanese-style room, but is called tatami "section," not a "room," because we do not have doors that separate it from the main dining room. Our tatami section is an open space, continuous with the main dining room. It is a raised seating bench with a cushion to sit on. It is certainly a new and different seating arrangement and dining experience! Come on by to take a look at the tatami section!

- On the menu, what does the * signify?
The * denotes raw or undercooked seafood or shellfish.
Remember, consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.
- Where are you located?
We are located at 373 Wilson Street, Brewer, ME 04412. We are situated between Jason's Pizza and Pat's Bike Shop. We are right across from Merrill Bank and Brewer Motel.

Yes, we do! Just let your server know that you have allergies and we will try our best to accomodate your needs.
- Do you have any vegetarian and/or vegan options?
- Of course! Please talk to your server!
- Are you hiring right now?
- At the present moment, we are not hiring. If you are interested in applying, please e-mail us your résumé. Also, please come in and ask for an application! Filling it out and sending us your résumé does not guarantee employment. However, we will keep your information on file and completely CONFIDENTIAL. When we are hiring again, we may contact you.
- Can I pay for my order over the phone?
- Unfortunately, you cannot pay for your order over the phone. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- How many guests are allowed at one (1) tatami table at a time?
- The maximum number of patrons allowed at one (1) tatami table is FIVE (5). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
